God Is Better Than Football is an album of twenty Christian songs for
children by me and my friend Glenn Cupit, plus the new words to Wide ,wide as
the oceans by John Lane. They range from songs specifically designed for
pre-schoolers through to songs suitable for teenagers. The songs are generally
age group specific, though God is better than football has been
successfully used by the whole age group. I regularly use it in gaols.
All the songs have been influenced by the theology of children of Ron
Buckland, previously from Scripture Union Australia, and so the main message of
the album is that God made you and loves you.
The title song God Is Better Than Football was used in the Oscar
winning film Harvie Krumpet.
